P1125 p0222 p0123 p1229
P1125 p0222 p0123 p1229
Well I was driving home tonight and my cooper went into EP mode as well EML light and the SES light came on, I Pulled the codes and these were culprits P1125 P0222 P0123 P1229. Granted I think two of those are because i forgot to plug the throttle wires in when i started but I killed the engine and restarted it. Anyway I'm not exactly sure what these all add up to clearly something with the throttle, but i was hoping someone could narrow it down a bit more, As far as recent work goes I installed a DDM CAI which was a few weeks ago and havent had a problem till now, and the rear rotors down, which is probably just coincidence.
Well, i figured it out!!, It just so happens the drop in CT temperature has caused this problem for multiple owners. Hopefully if your having these problems this will help, I stuck some Napa antifreeze in the gas line, and cleaned out the throttle body. It has done wonders!! ive have not had any problems now for 150 miles.
I was getting codes
P1125
P1229
Also in CT.
It seemed to happen when:
- it was damp
- I was driving less than 5 mph
- and I had the aftermarket 180W stereo cranked up (lowered the voltage of the electrical system a little?)
New Country Mini said both the Engine Wiring Harness and Throttle Body needed to be replaced.
But that's expensive.
And they just didn't sound like they completely knew what they were talking about, or they were withholding information.
(I was a nuclear engineer in a past life, and I usually can tell when somebody's trying to give me half the facts about technical stuff.)
I just sold the car last night to a friend, but I want them to get it sorted out.
How did you make out? Especially re: P1125 and P1229?
