Help! My mini broke down in Myrtle Beach

Help! My daughter borrowed my 2007 Cooper s and took it on a road trip to Myrtle Beach. 30 miles from there it stopped running and they had to have to towed to their hotel. (holiday weekend of course!). Attempts to jump it do nothing. The engine turns over but won't start. There are no mini dealers/service within more than 100 miles. Any suggestions on where to have it towed for a trusthworthy repair? Of course, it is out of warranty!

If you have any suggestions, please email me at marathonmickey@aol.com. Thanks in advance!!

Might want to post in the SC group or the NC Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club. The Tar Heel group is very strong and active and may know the resources in the area better than midwest locals.

I sure hope Mickey's found something before now, and daughter's not still stuck at MB, although I can think of worse places to be stuck.

I'll send him an email to remind him that we're all on pins and needles here.

My mini is on vaca in Myrtle Beach!

Sadly, my car is still stuck in MB. They initially thought it was the camshaft position sensor but upon installing a new part it still wouldn't start. I had the timing chain replaced under warranty back in March, but apparently that's not the specific problem either, although they are going to check the timing. It's at Ken Baker BMW/Benz and this shop also does repair work on mini's. So I'm kinda stuck at their mercy until they can get this figured out. Both my daughter and I have returned home to Chicago and when my car is finally fixed I will have to fly out and get it. Still hoping for suggestions!!
