Replacing Cam Shaft Position Sensor

My service engine light and my DSC light has been on for awhile. When I ran the codes it came up the Cam Shaft Position Sensor. When I go to order the sensor it comes up with the entire bracket including the sensor. Can you get just the sensor? Has anyone had any experience replacing this jewel? According to my manual you have to unbolt the engine.

If anyone has replaced this sensor please post about your experience and if you remember the steps you took in replacing it.

Thanks!

Been there and it isn't actually as hard as you would think. You do have to support the engine from below with a jack. Then remove the engine mount on the top passenger side. The mount has to be removed to lift the engine slightly to be able to get to the sensor. Should only take about 30-45 minutes.

I would stay OEM for the part - I know when it came to this part on our PT Cruiser - aftermarket failed much quicker. On a PT it is a 5 min job topside - easy cheesy.

If you have the original motor mount on the pass side, it might be a good idea to replace it if it looks worn. They are known to go bad

You can buy the sensor without any bracket. If you need we have good used ones we can sell you to save you $$
