3 yellow warning lights all at once- what do they mean?
3 yellow warning lights all at once- what do they mean?
So, got new PBR/Axxis pads n all 4 corners, everythign feels right so far, and def lower dust...
BUT...
Suddenly, after about 400 miles of driving (mostly highway), I noticed 3 new warning lights on yellow...
ABS light, Brake light (the circular arrow with the "!" inside the triangle), and the Flat Tire Monitor!
I checked air pressure, and all 4 tires are fine. Brakes feel fine too - i THINK the ABS is still working...
The mechanic who changed the pads (non-MINI mechanic) told me he was able to re-use all the brake pad wear sensors.
I have searched around, but find nothing conclusive.
I did find something that says the 3 together mean there is a problem with the pad wear sensor...?
I clled the dealer to ask them to tell me what that combination means, but of course they jsut say "bring it in and we'll check..."
I've got a 2006 MCsC (R52, I think) with 40k.
Thanks everyone!!!!!!!

concur
not a brake wear sensor. most probably a speed sensor
it should also be 'throwing a code' so you might have a diagnostic check done - a good chain auto-part store will often do this for free ... autozone does I believe.

Do a search for tri-fecta
the infamous 3 light failure on a gen1 mini....
Usually a bad/dirty wheel speed sensor....possible another compotent, like an angle sensor, but 90% of the time, the ws sensor isbad/dirty...one at each corner...a good code reader can tell which one is the problem...usually not hard to replace..

Thanks to everyone so far...
So did my mechanic bonk one of the sensors when he changed my pads??
The lights were not on right away - only after 400 miles...
Davester - thx for that post - though at $130 for the sensor alone, suddenly a reasonable brake job is morphing into something bigger!! :(
I already went to AutoZone...they check ENGINE LIGHT codes only.
I convinced them to take a look for me anjyway, which they did, but it came back saying "no engine code available"...
Sounds like maybe the big 3 have come down on these shops so they don't give out codes anymore...
I was hoping to get hold of the list so I could tell my mechanic the meaning of the proprietary ones when he checks it...
Are the codes the same for the same year BMW??
So Zippy, Captn, and Davester all are in agreement as to the cause - thats a great start - thanks so much!

Here's what I had+did

Good luck, eh?
-->$130
might be what the dealer charges for the sensor. I'd look for it online...
