I got one of those Oil plugs for xmas, so you dont have to un-screw the oil plug each time you change the oil, just flip the switch. Question is any issues with this, any install issues? do I need to install with lock tight? I have the powerstearing fan shroud from Moss also they said it should not conflict, just checking to see if anyone else has had this installed.
thanks, Kent

The use of loctite, blue, red... is questionable as the presence of oil in the threads nullifies the loctite and risky for improper application. The proper torque will load the threads against vibration thus loosening. Of course, after my experience of loosing two wheel bolts from inadequate torquing; a good torque wrench is always recommended.

Somewhere on post-MCO now referred to as NAM, the torque limits must be listed in a previous thread. The R-Speed how-to on oil change states "Retighten the 13 mm drain plug (Figure 5c) so that it is 1 quarter turn past when it is tight (Figure 5d). Be careful not to over-tighten as the pan is aluminum".

The statement by Moss; "A simple flick of the wrist and oil changes are a snap." raises the key concern of the ball valve to stay closed in the vertical position, don't want to the oil to leak out. Does the ball valve have a detent in the closed position or is it at least fairly hard to rotate? Also, as with any ball valve, the internal sealing mechanism is key for the ability to assure rotation over time. Ever open a ball valve having been in the closed position for sometime?

I've got one and I love it. I actually brought it directly from Fumoto because I wanted the "nipple" valve. I have the moss skid plate. With the nipple valve I am able to attach a short length of hose to the valve and drain the oil right through one of the circular vents in the skid plate. I'm going to get a fumoto for each of my vehicles.

MiniMiller,

I've been looking at the nipple version too...haven't ordered yet because I was worried it would extend too low...they warn "not for low vehicles" ....

sounds like the nipple does not extend below the moss skid plate, is that right?

thanks for posting....this will solve a teeny dilemma I've been fussing over!
