So I washed my car two days ago and since my drivers window has squeaked and squealed! Someone relieve me of the agonising sound!! Please?

I have the same issue, but the sound is worse than yours!! And mine is due to Tint being installed about 2yrs. ago!! I forgot to mention it to the Dealer a week ago.

 

I had the same problem, then the auto-up programming on the windows went out within a few days. The dealer was able to reprogram in a few minutes.

 

So far i've tried:

Talc Powder
Waxing the window with auto glym glass cleaner.

Still no luck!

I'm sure its got louder if anything lol!

 

hahaaha I am sorry but that sound was kinda funny when I played it

on the serious note is this coming from the window touching frame or what? How about some WD 40 after You take that inside panel off and spray around?

Tbh, I do find it quite funny. Just annoying in public lol!

and the squeak seems to be coming from the rubber. There are two however, mine seems to be the one below the one you'd rest your arm on. (Rubber where window goes down, another beneath this.)

Tried to apply talc to it but no luck.

Think i need to take the door card off and have a go. Not sure if this is as easy as it sounds though?

The window regulators get dry and make noise. You need to remove the regulator partially for access to rails and spray grease(white lith works) the rails and guides. Removal is easy but you will need the window adjustment spanner wrench to get glass back in the correct position as it will need to be removed to access rails. If under warranty, the dealer should take care of it for you.

Last night I look the door card off and had a proper look in there. Sprayed everything that could rub with silicone spray and the runners etc with WD40. Squeak still remained so I gave up.

On my travels after it seemed to of disappered. Will try again later though!

So its seems to of gone phew!

Will post a tutorial of some sort on how to take the door card off etc soon!

Please do. I'm having the same problem and the dealer doesn't want to deal with it until the sound gets worse! Also, I have a loose speaker grill that only comes in intermittently so I'll have to look at it myself.

 

I have the same issue. Brought it to the dealer and they said it was the regulator and it is known to fail. I was told $800 per door parts & labor. The MINI is out of warranty but my SA is trying to get MINI USA to cover it.

 

Sound's to me they are taking you for a ride!

Its seriously simple to take the door liner off.

I just pumped a whole load of silicone on the window parts after taking off the door skin and all is fine.

I do however sometimes get smears on my window but is much better than that awful squeak!

 

If they fix it and MINI USA pays for it I won't care. I watched them do one of them yesterday it is actually a huge pain in the *** to replace the part. You have to take 3 panels off then take the entire glass out - took about 3.5 hours just to take it all apart and put back together.

 

Just had mine in for the same problem. They replaced the regulators in both doors. Said it has been an issue. Luckily still under warranty.
