P2097 Check Engine Code

Hi Guys,

I am new to Mini and new to the forum, just bought an 02 Mini Cooper.

The check engine light was on with P2097 code. My mechanic tells me that it is either the catalytic or the oxygen sensor itself. After reading as much as I could on the this forum that one of the possible solutions is to reset the DME adaptation values.

There are many threads but no definitive solution.

Anyone has any experience with this?

I bought a 07 Pure Silver mini cooper this summer and the check engine light came on. Had the local mechanic check it out and had many error codes. Mechanic cleared them and the engine light came back on two or three more times, Seems it's the oxygen sensor above the catalytic converter. Going to order a sensor Tuesday..prays it is only that.
