Strange supercharger noise
Strange supercharger noise
Hey everyone,
Yesterday my car started making a very strange noise after about 2 hours of driving. from my searching I have found that it is most likely a problem with the super charger / water pump.
here is a video I found with someone who has the exact same problem.

Now my question is;
My car is at 119 000 miles, what is the next step I need to take from here?
And, is it even going to be worth it to get it fixed (how expensive is this usually)?

You need to isolate the SC & water-pump by disconnecting the belt and running the engine for a couple of minutes. If the noise is still there, it could be the timing chain and/or the harmonic balancer/pulley. If it's not, then it's the SC/water-pump.
FYI: don't run the engine w/o the belt for more than a few minutes because the the water-pump is not circulating coolant and may cause overheating.
Here's the thread on what to do: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ater-pump.html
