Very very simple question

I was trying to bleed the clutch slave cylinder last night.

I unbolted and later wanted to put it back.

I hand compressed it but couldn't slide it back in, so I forced the cylinder piston in the front and tried to slide it in at an angle.

Sadly, I saw brake fluid started dripped from the front, where the boot was bone dry before. The brake fluid stopped dripping after I straightened it back.

But did I just screw up the clutch slave cylinder and should buy a new unit?

You need a slave cyl. compressor to do the job correctly.
The shaft has probally wiped out the seal when installing at an angle.

I called a mechanic from a dealership, and was told that it was designed to sip a bit to lubricate, and most likely mine is still fine.

I bled all the brakes and the slave cylinder. The car is still driving fine. Will wait and see.
