Not all bad

Ok, I know that we all have had some problems with out Minis but I think we can also post up good experiences with service and fixes.

Over my last 57k miles on Donkey it has been in repair 3 times.

Repair #1 was a leaky transmission main gasket (within the 1st 100o miles) BMW fixed it in about a week (Christmas vacation season 2008 so they were short handed and had to wait for the part)

Repair #2 was the cold start chatter 55k miles, Donkey was at BMW for an overnight. They tested it and swapped out the tentioner piston for the timing chain. Chatter is gone and service was great!!

Repair #3 was 5 days after getting the car back from the cold start chatter, I found oil on the turbo. Bmw again had it for an overnight, Cause was the oil line bolt was bad. Again the service was top notch.

So, bottom line. Car had small problems, repaired fast and I am completely satisfied.

Share some of your good experiences.

David: I agree, it seems we have a tendency to grumble on these forums and usually don't make the effort to give credit when it is due. My '07 MCS has experienced a few minor issues in the past 40K miles. I have had the HP fuel pump, cold start noise, windscreen fluid pump and a few other issues addressed since the car was new. My MINI dealer has fixed these things promptly, without any hassle while always treating me like a valued customer. I would like commend my trusted dealer and the great employees at Desert MINI of Las Vegas for excellent customer service and making the MINI ownership experience a positive one even when the car has issues.

My clubbie now has 60K+ on the clock and has been in for Cold Start Chatter, new HP Fuel Pump and New Door Sills as the metal part was pealing off.

Other than those items the only other problem I had was when the car was spitting out codes that know one could figure out. They did not exist in any code database so no one knew what to look for. Well that turned out to me Squirrel problems, so i cna not fault MINI corporate for that one. But two dealers and a Local MINI Guru could not figure it out. The squirrels had filled the Filter Box and Intake tube full of acorns and if you don't believe me check my gallery for pictures, and there is a thread here somewhere about it.

So except for the dealres not being able to look at anything where they cant figure out a code all my experiences have been very good.
