no starting after sitting for a while

After sitting for about two weeks due to weather, i tried to start the car today. No power door locks with the remote, no lights inside, no lights or radio when key inserted and turned.

Tried to jump start it. While the cables are hooked up to the running support vehicle, i get lights, heater, fan, radio, power windows, locks, remote lock, unlock, etc. Turning the key to START gets windows moving down, dash lights blinking, headlights on, but no starter turning.

Disconnecting the jumper cables brings the car back to the dead state as in the first paragraph above.

Replaced, moved around relays in the fusebox, swapped the ignition switch 50A fuse with another to no avail.

Thoughts, ideas?

Sounds like the battery is very dead...
You may need to leave the jumper cables attatched for a few minutes...using thicker jumper cables+ a stronger source of power helps..idling the car providing the power helps.
This is basic jump starting info, true on any car.

When the battery on my '02 S died I couldn't jump start it through the contact points under the bonnet, had to go directly to the battery. This turned into a bit of a pain because the early '02 S's don't have a inside boot release and the boot was locked .

+1 for Zippy's advice.
MINI's are hard to jump start for some reason.
You can also try getting the RPM's up on the car giving the jump, that may help. My mom had a Buick which would not take a jump off idle but if I got the RPM (and I guess voltage) up higher it would jump start.

Same situation for me with an "05.

From completly dead to starting took about 30 minutes without removing the jump-cables.

It probably wouldn't have taken so long, but I tried to start the car 3 other times before waiting for it to charge up.

Each time I got into the car, the dash lights were brighter & soon it started to click...10 minutes later (still hooked to the jump-cables) it started.

I hope you get up and running.

Thanks to all. Jumped it from my truck instead of minivan, with larger diameter cables, and at the battery instead of under the bonnet.
