So i did a search and couldn't come up with anything. How do i turn off the daytime running lights? do i have to go to a dealer, or can i do it myself?

It is a dealer programable option....
So go to the dealer, and pay $$$ to change it!

The drl on a mini are the high-beams run on low power (if you have the Xenon's anyway). That is why they have a yellowish look...they are running at lower temp...don't know of any LED high beam replacemnt's...

So, is the high beam a H7 or H9 for 06 MCS r53? Try to replace and locate where's the high beam light bulb exactly...

The high beam is H9. It is the lower bulb (and more forward position) in the same headlight housing as the low beam.

Well on the '09 it's an option under the user configuration menu and stored on the key fob. I actually had to turn the option on. I can't say for sure if this is true for earlier models.

Dealer option only on the earlier models....my 03 was dealer programmed...my 10 I programmed myself. But....why turn 'em off?

That is also my thought! The DRL is my first line of defense against IISUV (Idiots In Sport Utility Vehicle) drivers. the second line of defense of course it the ability to turn inside their wheelspan!
