Temperature in tach is broken

Temperature in tach is broken

How do I fix this? I'm not sure even what is broken to make this not work. It always reads -40 degree f

Have you tried resetting the ecu? Try removing the NEG terminal on the battery for a couple of minutes, or use this guide...https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...reset-ecu.html

The outside temp sensor behind the front bumper is either broken or disconnected. The computer goes to -40 as a default when that happens. Check it out first.

Where is it located behind the front bumper? What is the name of the part I may have to replace? Thanks.

I tried resetting the ECU and it's still at -40 degrees. Was worth the try though. Thanks.

It's on the driver's side about a foot in from the edge, and a few inches down from the top. Odds are it's just disconnected.
