Sitting by fire dept in Atlantic Beach FL waiting for AAA tow truck at 9pm on a Fri with my clutch not working I only have 60000 miles on my 2007 Mini S Any idea what a new clutch is going to cost?
Anyone know a good repair shop around here for another quote besides the dealer?
This is my first post
I can tell you DO NOT go to the dealer. I live on the Westcoast of Fl. but if you check with the local MINI community on Sunshineminis.org you may be able to locate a shop over there.
Call Ian at Maitland Imports. He races his Mini and his shop specializes in them as well. He will give you great prices and excellent customer service.

$3K "ouch" Having too much fun sometimes costs too much!
yeah, new clutch, needed an A/C hose and they installed my short shifter, 3,400, this is after i had put in new suspension and new rims and tires, so broke the bank with close to 6k this year.
and more mods to come, it's my baby so it gets all the attention.

Was ur O5 S used?what else might b wrong when clutch goes out?
I have extended maintenance plan and am afraid they'll tell me something else is wrong that I would have to pay4
Tks I don't know anything about MINI clutches R they that bad? What else could be wrong if the clutch goes out?
"historically inconsistent quality" is the gentlest term I can think of....
And $3K from the dealer is a pretty good estimate, considering they replace the clutch and the dual mass flywheel. most of that is labor. I would def price an independent shop to get a heavier duty setup like Clutchmasters...
However, it could also be something to do with yr master cylinder; friend of mine lost all clutch function on her 05 S--dead and had to be towed in--but it wasnt the clutch, it was something to do with the master cylinder (altho she has 130K plus on her factory clutch, she's on her 4th M/C).
