Steering Issues
NHTSA investigation... So far just on 2004 and 2005 Minis, but could it be something to look forward to on the R56 too? Anyone had problems with steering so far? http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...sa-probe_N.htm

Different power steering units on the R53 and the R56 so doubt that you have anything to worry about (at least regarding your steering ).

I had to get a new steering rack around 34,000 miles on my 08 mcs

Curious what the issue was? I have a few concerns with steering and wondering if this could be a possible culprit.

I didn't really have a major issue, I mentioned to my SA that there was a click/pop sound when I was making hard lefts
