sc removal

Wrenches,

Can SC, waterpump, be removed w/o pulling intake manifold off?

thanks to all who've made my years of lurking so informative!

I asked local mini tech what life of sc oil was usually, he said no oil, its dry.

OMG.

I bought an oil kit on ebay with a syringe and spouted bottle which looks like it will let you leave the thing on and change the oil.

With that said, I plan to take it apart and to inspect it and replace the water pump while there. ( I have a new waterpump already that I will return if I don't need, but the old one better be perfect for me to leave the it in.) I did a bunch of research and didn't get a manifold gasket which makes me think we don't have to remove it.

This thread was Good.

You can't replace the water pump only the gears. It is part of the SC body.

It can be removed w/o removing the intake manifold.

If you change the water pump you will need 2 of the #2 o rings in that diagram. Also the new water pump must have been slightly longer so I had to leave the #7 bolts loose might the SC up and then tighten the #7 bolts down.
