Rear Wiper

Anyone know if it'd be easy to access the rear wiper motor? It wasn't doing a full wipe and the dealership told me I'd need a new motor. However, on the way home I turned it on (it was pointed straight up ) and it seems to work fine, except it's new home position is about 3 inches up wards from where it should be.

Not sure why the thing has a new resting position, but you can take the wiper arm off and reposition it on the splines. The plastic cap should pop off and the there is a bolt to take out.

Be careful removing the rear wiper arm assembly from the motor shaft. The shaft is hollow for the widow sprayer and can be damaged very easily.

I don't think that moving the wipers position on the shaft will fix this because when the wiper is turned on it initially moves down wards the distance necessary to reach its original position, then does a full sweep returning to its "new" position. Maybe this is a computer issue?

There doesn’t appear, at least to me, anything on the motor that I can adjust. Anyone have any ideas?

just a guess but looks like something shifted inside the motor causing it to loose the index where to stop. Since you can't adjust anything outside .. . I'd learn to live with it unless you want to buy a motor . . .

Just wanted to share an update: ran the rear wiper in the rain tonight and noticed that it has fixed itself. Go figure but glad I don't have to pay for it
