Stripped air intake torx screws

Whoever last replaced the air filter on our Mini (we bought it used), stripped both torx screws that hold the intake together, most likely overtorqued them :( Anyone run into this in the past? Any suggestions for an easy fix? I'm thinking I could go one step larger screws, but not sure what size I should use.

Same problem with me, 3 week old (used) 2003 mini cooper.

I had to use zip ties to keep it closed. looking forward to the replies.

How about filling the holes with ABS cement used to glue pipe together, redrill smaller holes, and let the screws self-tap themselves in?

Some people have also suggested using CA glue. I might give that a try. The bottom assembly is around $30 at the dealer, so if I can fix the holes, yay me.
I fear that ABS cement might crack when drilled/screwed in? Also, when you pour it in, it is I think harder than the plastic, so you might end up drilling the hole at an angle by accident.
Thanks for the idea Sidmind, I'm going to zip-tie mine until I fix it.

Happened to me, I just put slightly larger screws in. No problems.

I bought a new air box for less than $100 from the dealership. The only reason I didn't "fix" it on my own was because I sold the car and the buyer didn't like my mickey mouse fix.

I had the same problem but I approached it a little differently. I drilled out the hole to accept a 10-32 stainless steel blind nut and epoxied them to the bottom of the air box and use a couple of 10-32 stainless steel machine screws that will never corrode.
