I have searched for posts related to this and haven't found one. If there is one already setup please direct me. Otherwise, I have an '03 Cooper S and the drivers side door will close, and acutally lock, but it's not closed.

A few years back while I was under warrenty the dealership told me they replaced the door seal because of a known issue with the door not closing properly. Well now I'm experiencing the same issues.

The door will shut, and the lock will latch, the inside lights go out. So the car is registerring the door as "shut". However, there is a noticable sound that doesn't sound like the door really shut. There is a noticable gap between the edge of the door and the body of the car. There is also a noticable sound when driving down the road of air whoooshing past.

Any suggestions? I'm not under warrenty any more. I do most of the repairs on this car myself, and I have checked this thing over and over and I cannot see the issue.

 

Does the window go up the last 1/2 inch (to seal) when you close the door?

 

Yes the window seals fine. The door will lock for all those people who had door lock isssues where the locks didn't work. This is not that issue.
