New to site 03 MCS Owner need help with PS

PS electric motor continues to whine after car is shut off and ignition key is removed.

I need help with these questions;

1 Is this an indication the motor is bad?
2 Disconnected battery to prevent motor from killing batery. Is that ok?
3. I am prety handy, how hard is it to change motor or pump if they are bad?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any good Mini Mechanics in Fairfield County area of CT?

Verify that it is the pump running. If it is, then the pump is bad. Sometimes people mistake the P/S cooling fan or radiator fan, cause they will also fail where they stay running.
If you need a pump, we keep em in stock.
