Okay everyone, I'm sitting in the mini dealership now, frustrated. drove 2 hours here because of that belt noise I was hearing...
IN 5 min they came out and told me my supercharged pulley was in to far...and they don't have the tool to fix it.
Last time I was here for a starting problem they quickly jumped to the conclusion it was the aftermarket plugs and coil and for me to buy factory from them and change it. I didn't do it, and later that month found out it was the ignition switch.
As soon as I found out they are saying it's my supercharger pulley I posted here and called the mechanic who did my install, who also did the whole clubs installs.. he said that the pulley is either in, or out, it can't really be adjusted. I left the dealer and realized I drove 2 hours there and I wasn't happy yet, so I turned around and went in the garage and requested them to show me how they came to this conclusion so fast, I pop the hood open and say show me, he just points down and says "if u look closely u can ser it's off a hair" I say I don't see it, he kinda get nervous and was studdering now, and says "it's probly just off a couple centimeters but I can see it....
THEN HE SAYS, " I can even see where there are signs of it being off, see the sc pulley, on the outside it's stratched up". (he's talking about the part where on the alta pulley, the fancy black and red lettering logo alta v2 is, I say no? I did that when I was changing the belt, because i used a ply bar and accidently strached it lifting up the tensioner. He says. "well. that's the problem, u must have pushed it in doing that, I go NO, I changed the belt because it was worn and to try to fix the problem, therefore, it was like that before I changed it, IT HAPPENED 30 min down the road after I left the dealer a month ago! I'm a little annoyed just how they have treated me, blaming everything on the aftermarket stuff. Maybe it is out of alignment, but i don't like how literly 5 minutes of lookin at the car that's what they say. Anyways I'm drivin 3 1/2 hours to the installer of the pulley to check it out. If it is out of alignment, could my supercharger be damaged in anyway, bearing? or something?

Hi There! My name is Stéphane and I'm from France. I have a r53s slightly modified (-17% & +2% Alta pulleys, forge intercooler, home-made big airbox, and a full stainless steel exhaust system, with 4/1 Janspeed branches, decat and one-ball silencer).
I took the car for a tune-up & it gave an impressive 286 N.m. at 4.300 rpm!!! Here come my problems:
1st: Power gives an impressive 179 bhp at 4.500 rpm and suddently goes down till the torque falls (around 5.000)... Then the power goes up again but very slowly to a poor 200 bhp at 6.500 rpm... It should be far over 220 bhp...
2nd problem: the car makes a heavy whispering noise with a metallic rattling noise from 4.500 rpm (like a very Noisy cricket)
3rd problem: we can clearly hear that the SC stops charging (SC goes slower instead of going faster to the rev-limiter)...!
It feels like the belt spins but we checked and it's not that (brand new belt, all pulleys checked, and a manual Alta tensionner)....
The problem is Smurfs have invaded your engine bay. Exterminate the Smurfs and see if that helps. Lol. Sorry, couldn’t resist. Can you post a video of the noise?
