OBC Temp Gauge Stuck

The other day I hopped into MINI Bee, a 2006 MC, and noticed the temperature gauge on the Onboard Computer said it was 122 degrees outside! I may live in a hot southwest New Mexico climate, but 122 degrees in the fist week of April? But not only did it read 122 degrees, it stays at 122 degrees morning, noon and night -- doesn't budge a smidgen. Does anyone know what's up with that? Does anyone know how to fix it?
And as a side note, my SES light popped on about, if not the exact same time I noticed that the temp gauge was stuck. Does anyone think they're related? I would take it to the dealer but my warranty just ran out Jan. 31, and I have eclipsed the odometer at almost 52,000 mile, so any information will be greatly appreciated.

IIRC, that indicates that the wire has become disconnected from the sensor. I think you have to remove the bumper to reconnect it.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out and hopefully I won't need a new sensor.
