half power light on.
half power light on.
Hi, i just bought a 07 mcs last weeks with 102k miles. while driving my the half power check engine light came on. checked for codes with scanner but no codes, mini runs but feels like Half power(no boost), is there anyway to clear the light cc message and get out of limp mode with out stealership. The closest dealer is 150 miles away and i got no warranty
.
In the last week i had 3 check engine lights. got to love a mini.

I Went to a local euro cars only shop today. they pulled 2 codes that my scanner did not see. #1 cylinder misfire and over boost. they swapped coil packs and misfire stayed on #1 cylinder so its probably plugs and in worst case injector. Over boost is probably from misfire cause i drove from 0 to 80 at 100% throttle leaving rest area. then 10 miles later the light came on. Mini is a rocket when its not in limp mode LOL.
ordered plugs and did sea foam.
will report if it ever comes back.
original cc message.
cc-id 029

I think thats the highest mileage R56 I've heard of on here....
But then again I haven't really been paying attention...your six figure mileage just happened to catch my eye. I'm interested to see what the longevity of these motors is like

cc-id 029 is the error code that means the high pressure fuel pump is malfunctioning. I got the same code a while back and the dealer determined the high pressure fuel pump was the problem. You may need a new fuel pump as well.
I just had this error code after having the car tilted from the passenger side for a week while I replaced the serpentine drive belt (front wheel off, etc. You know the drill if you have done this).
I'm guessing an air pocket developed in the fuel filter area. I filled the tank but the light came on again. Power does seem to be getting better. I'm going to let it sit tonight and try it again tomorrow.

Long story short, my CCID 029 meant something wrong with vaccuum. The OBDII scanner I have said there were no codes but the dealership has one of those special mini scanners.
The vaccuum pump was leaking oil into the lines
causing them to bulge. After replacing the pump and the lines all is well again.

Got another CC-ID 029 code and this time it was the turbo charger. Luckily the dealer replaced it under the cpo warranty.
The warranty expired for me Friday as I went over 100,000 miles.
Sold the car last night (Saturday).
