any suggestions?

i drive an 08 cooper s and i have 35,000 miles on it. i'm not the greatest at reversing and starting off on hills, also i live in SF Cali, the problem is when i accelerate moderately IE getting on highway the RPM's increase but acceleration does not happen. any solutions

powerloss? do you have a Check engine light?

could be glazed flywheel/clutch from all those hill take offs in SF
ask dealer to check for service bulliten ( i had one on my 05)
and go from there
