im going crazy

hey guy's I need some help. I complained about the stupid chrome beltline trim on my car lining up like a 70's dodge. I took it to the dealer and they said no problem. they replaced the two door pieces and boot piece. I washed my car recently and I think the trim looks worse than before I brought it to the dealer. can you guys post some pics of your chrome trim and how the various sections line up. maybe im just wanting mine to be too perfect.
Thank you all very much

I'll take a look in the am after I clean the snow off the car again.
If they can't get it right and it still dosen't look right to you maybe you should make it a blacked out beltline so it isn't as noticeable. I think you might like that look as I have noticed you have blacked out most of your chrome trim? I know they have aftermarket stuff like blackout tape from Outmotoring.com

I always thought this plastic chrome trim was so late 70's General Motors crap... Could it get any cheaper?

On a semi related note, if you wanted to black out the trim, what's the best way to go about it?

no, but thanks for the effort. if you could take some of where the rear of the door meets the rear panel (by the door handle) on both sides of the car and a picture of the hatch piece where the end meets the body on both sides. the rest of my car lines up pretty well. btw, I like the yellow. Thanks

thanks, Melo. that gives me a good idea of how I should expect it to line up. mine's not much different. i guess im just expecting too much for a 27000 car and I ordered some outmotoring blackout tape to pretty much make the beltline invisible (i hope).

Got the snow off and took some pics... Mine are pretty good so I think the dealer/MINI should be responsible! I would keep on them like a fly to * Hubbys GP is a first generation MINI and his are GREAT, even the gaps are a lot closer than mine. I have a 2010 Mayfair edition so I'm wondering if they take better care aligning on special editions. Not right, they should pay attention to all of their products. My daughter will be home this weekend with her 2nd generation S and I'm going to check out her beltline.

if you look there's no turning back. its outmotoring blackout tape time for me. my car is black so the chrome beltline just looks out of place. I would be blacking mine out even if it lined up perfect. then im gonna plastidip the grill, mirror rings and rear hatch handle. on some colors, like yellow and chocolate it actually looks good the only chrome I want is the front lower grill line

Man it sucks that there is such a difference from one car to the next... But I think your going the right way with the blackout tape. It will look cool on your already cool lookin MINI!
