Window Problem/ No suction

Hi
This is the first I have noticed because its pouring out but my drivers side window is not sealing closed when you shut the door. It doesnt suck in when the door closes whick is causing water to leak in.
When I tried to roll down the window with the toggle button and roll it back up again, the window does not stop when it is completely up. It rolls back down again which means I am not able to roll window completely up. I have to stop right before it is completely closed so it doesn't roll back down again

Would anyone know what is causing this?? I am so upset

I have a 2009 Cooper S
Thanks!
Melanie~

It's a known problem...take it in to the dealer, they will have to do a Re-Initialization and that should fix the problem.

You don't have to take it to the dealer to reinitialize. Just turn the car on and press and hold the power window button in the up position and hold it there for about 5 seconds with the door closed. This will initialize the window.

Just a note for you for re-initializing the windows.

It is best to follow this set of instructions to get the most benefit, these are from MINI tech support in the UK.

1. Hold window switch in down position and after window is all the way down continue to hold for 15 seconds.

2. Release and let sit for 5 or more seconds.

3. Hold window switch in up position and after window is closed continue to hold for 15 seconds.

4. Window should now operate properly. If it does not then it is a programing error in the window control circuits and needs software to be re-installed.

Many cars will work with holding for less than 15 seconds but others may not.

I did the 15 down / 15 up and reset mine - was hitting the molding if not careful - now the window dips as expected...
