I have an '09 Clubman with the same issues. Passenger side SRS shows as off most of the time my wife rides in the car, and shows as on when I have nothing in the seat. Strange. A pasenger in the 120-150 range should not be light enough to "turn off" the SRS...? Hope the dealership can make an adjustment/repair to remedy this recently occuring problem, as my warranty is running out at the end of the year. Based on the number of comments regarding this matter, I'd expect MINI has issued a TSB on the seat sensor in the passenger seats for several model years.

 

Get it in! Insist they look into the problem, the pass seat occupancy mat probably needs to be replaced.

 

Agreed if it is something that has just started recently and was not a problem when you first got the car make sure you get it checked out.

Just picked up a certified 2010 Cooper, and noticed that the Pass Airbag Disabled light was illuminated on the drive home last night with the girlfriend in the passenger seat and buckled up.

Hopefully I can get this resolved without an issue, car still has balance of factory warranty + CPO warranty.
