Replacing headlight glass

I have an R56 with non-Xenon headlights and one of the headlights has several bad scratches from an encounter with a wire fence. Is the glass easily replaced? Where is the best place to get the glass from?
Thanks

I think the good news is since you don't have Xe's this won't be TOO expensive. I believe you'll need to replace the entire headlight unit which is actually fairly easy - unplug the wires, remove a few nuts and the assembly is easy to pull out. Well that's how easy it is on a GEN1 anyway. The lens is glued on, so there's no easy way to replace just the lens. (I replaced a guy's standard fixtures on a GEN1 with an angel eye set he got off e-Bay)

Start with the recomended low cost dealers who adv' here, and compare to your local guy. IME the light assemblies don't cost that much. Or at least I was happy with the cost from the dealer when I cracked a front turn signal / running light.

The light assemblies can be taken part but MINI does not sell just the lens, they only seel the whole unit.

You might be able to get a used one that is in better shape froma junk yard but other than that it is a dealer or OEM parts place part.
