okay here's the deal, i bought Alta CAI and just received it today and, i followed the instruction on how to install it , took me over almost 3hrs (beginner). so when i'm done, start the car its fine, can hear the engine roar!. so i'm planning to take it for spin and just around the corner street, my engine indicator lights up!.. went back home check everything seems to be fine. but my engine lights still onn. what did i do to upset the my mini? and what can i do to get rid of the engine light? do i have to reset the ecu? and what if if did reset ECu and light still onn? any suggestion?

 

did you put the plastic crank vent tube back in?

did you install the silicon tube also?

if not then try unplugging your battery and try again

i did install the silicone tube and yes i did try to reset the ECU but the odometer and by taking the battery terminal. and still no go.

also i did have my oil changed done and before that no lights onn, only when i install the CAI.

anymore suggestion? someone told me drive the car for few kilometers and it might clear it out, so far i drove around 40k and took it for a spin, and still lights onn.

im running out of options here, is it okay to drive the car?

 

Oh, I didn't mean that oil, I mean the oil on the air intake filter. If you sprayed oil on it, it may have been too much, and it could be affecting the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.

 

thank GOD! my light is off, drove it for a while and hit 120k and wala! it gone so happy that, my car is back to normal, next stop short shifter!
