Squeaky Steering Wheel/Column
I was about to post the same thing but decided to run a search first. I have the same problem I think.
Here's the deal. When I rotate the steering wheel it will make a low bass sounding squeak from a complete neutral position (when tires are perfectly straight). From this position, turning 5-10 degrees left or right will make this sound. But only when passing this position. Usually only happens when the car is cold or just started. After some time it goes away. But I think it is happening more frequently during start ups. Not only does it make an audible sound, you can feel the squeakiness through the wheel with you hands. It's not a vibration that is too serious, just not normal when compared to when it wasn't there.
Is this similar you what you are talking about? If so I'm in the same boat and don't know what to do about it.

I'm going to try this after finals week is over. Hope this helps as this is exactly what I was describing.
