I have an 02 Cooper, with automatic climate control. On the way home the other night, everything seemed to go bezerk. The temparature display on the computer and the auto climate control both switched to celcius, the check engine light went on, the air bag light went on and the drivers side window won't work. I thought these cars were german engineered!?! Has anyone else experienced bizarre electronic issues? It's due to go in the shop on Monday, but if I can get a heads up (my dealer isn't the most intelligent bunch of mechanics I've seen)...

 

Double check that your battery terminals are tight. There have been issues of seemingly dead cars and electronics that 'reset' themselves while driving, etc. Many have found it to be loose battery terminals.

 

good point - but wouldn't the clock have been reset too???

OMG!!!!!!! You said the "L" word!!! Now i'm having flashbacks of my TR7 conv, and the smell of the main wiring harness fusing as i'm driving on 285 in ATL!
