Hi All,

I have just bought a new 2008 (yes new) Cooper S with 140 miles. I now have 265 miles and the speedo has broken. The large speedo needle is not functioning and just sits on the bottom of the Speedo housing. The point of the speedo is at the Memory A1 of hte stereo display. Has anyone else had this type of issue? If so, then is there a fix?

Definitely sounds like a warranty issue. Unless you have a blown fuse that's causing the problem, I wouldn't even bother troubleshooting it - just get the car back to the dealer.

 

I'd change your tach display to show speed and motor straight to your nearest dealership. You've got 59,875 miles of warranty left - use it!

I think U meant OP has 49,735 miles of warranty left (50,000 - 265 = 49,735)

Well, most MINIs don't have big issues. Odds are with you that this will be your last problem.

 

Sorry, typo: 49,875 (purchased with 265 means warranty goes to 50,265). I live in 100,000 mile warranty land and drive in 50,010 mile warranty land (halfway there yesterday!).
