Is anyone else experiencing this and had repair/dealer/MINIUSA-BMW response experience: just lately (15K mi.), I began hearing a noise best described as if the sunroof is open somewhat or there is an imaginary door in the center of my windshield that is open. It seems to come from the center of the windshield and even up to the sunroof. The sunroof seems to work fine and closes completely. But the noise is louder than the front windshield defroster fan and can be heard over the radio. It's as loud as a door being left open, but comes from the upper windshield of the car. I'm not a sensitive driver in any sense of the word and expect and even enjoy engine and road noise (I've even heard the "bottom-of-the-driver-side-door-noise" and don't mind) -- but this is really loud.

I searched the forum and found a few other posts on this. Seems some dealers replace seals or reinforce them somehow, others adjust sunroof height and still others say it's normal.

Any others with this problem?

 

Have the same issue. Developed about 18 months after delivery. Have mentioned it to the SA and will be looked at late March when in for annual service. I have seen a post on NAM about this issue several months ago. The post did indicate that an adjustment can be made to "tighten things up". Have searched since seeing your post and can not find.

Maybe somebody can redirect us to that posting and the outcomes.
