should be covered under warranty. had one of my standard fobs do this and I got a new one from the dealer. they need a little documentation to ensure they only give it to the owner but it can be done.

You may be aware of this, but each fob has a rechargeable battery inside. They suggest that you alternate usage of the fobs to ensure that the batteries stay charged. It's possible that one of your fobs, that you use frequently, is fully charged, but you inadvertantly picked up the other fob, which has discharged.

Make sure you have the same problem with both fobs before taking to dealer.

Cars with comfort access don't use a rechargeable battery. It must be replaced once in a while.

I swapped batteries from the other working remote and still no responce. I'll try putting it in the ignition for awile to charge the internal battery. I just rolled over the 36K so warrenty is now out the door. As long as it opens the door i'll use the convience button before dropping $340 for a new key. So i'am guessing there isnt a reprogramming proceedure to try to reprogram the remote??...

Thanks for the Help

maintenance is 36mo/36000 miles

warranty 4 years/50,000 miles

this was warranty when I needed a new fob....

Brian,
I don't have the convenience package on my MCSa but the factory warranty is 4 years/50K where the free maintenance is 3 years/36K so you should still be under the factory warranty. Therefore they should replace the faulty keyfob under the warranty.
