A few electrical questions

So I found the more I read the owners manual in my MCS the more stuff I learn this car can do. I read that the power windows are supposed to roll completely up if I quickly click the button up and release it. For some reason this isn't working in my car. It will roll down completely if I click it down, but it wont roll up if I click it up. Am I doing something wrong?

Second question, it looked to me like the manual said I can turn off the option that locks the doors automatically when I start to drive the car. Having to pull the door handle twice every time I want to get out of the car is getting old. Do I need to take it to the dealer to get this turned off, or is it something I can do?

Thanks in advance.

US-spec MINIs don't have that option--safety hazard reasoning. You'll need to purchase an aftermarket product which is VERY easy to install.

On the first generation MINIs (2002-2006), the programming for options has to be done at the dealers - not user programmable.

For auto-up, see http://www.gbmini.net/wp/auto-up_windows/

As was said, the programmable preferences (see post #4) must be changed by the dealer.
Note that as an alternative you can have the car automatically unlock on engine off. That solves the double pull issue for the most part.

+1.

make no sense when bimmers have the option. so that leads me to believe its not a safety reason but a lazy reason for MINI to not have that programmed into the control module.
