My Heater is on high and it won't shut down!!!
06 MCS with 30K miles.
Driving home the other night with the A/C on, when out of nowhere the fan went to high, the heat came on. and nothing I could do would shut it down. Someone help!
None of the controls work. The little green light will not illuminate on any of the bars, turning the center **** up or down does nothing.
I finally just pulled the fan motor fuse to keep it from coming on just so I could get home. The car turned into an oven!!!
I did some looking around when I got home and noticed that maybe some of the water in the cupholder might have spilled but it was very little.
I checked some threads but couldn't find any similar problems.
The car is under warranty but my dealer is 180+ miles away besides I don't know if the dealer (Brian Harris MINI) has recovered from the Hurricane yet.
All suggestions are appreciated.

hit it with a hammer
You know what they say " If it doesn't work, hit it with a hammer"' Along those lines I usually resort to disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes when I encounter an electrical glich. This procedure resets the ECU and corrects the problem.
