I just got the latest software upgrade today (v. 33.2 I think...). Acceleration seems smooth still, perhaps even a little bit jerkier or tighter, which doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I was told it should fix the cold start issue, which has been getting worse and worse in recent weeks. It started around 9000 miles, I now have 13,500 miles. I'll report if it's gone after I start the car tomorrow!

Just to be more specific than my last post (and because I just now noticed it) I received the upgrade for the cold start (33.2) and a DME reprogramming for the 1st gear lurching.

What you described, Joe, seems like what I'm experiencing: the take off is MUCH tighter and kind of flings me into my seat in a strangely unnatural way. Perhaps I just have to get used to this new sensitivity...? I thought he was "Zippy" (Mum's favourite word ) before... he's a bit off the hook, now!

Well I took it out this evening, and while I didn't get to find out about the cold start (I'd been driving all afternoon) it definitely seems much faster and tighter in first gear. I had a couple of lurches, but these were because it has become soooo sensitive in 1st that I need to learn how to be even smoother than before.

But its zippy as hell, and feels faster, so I'm happy!!!

Grrrr.... Although my first gear is now much more responsive, which is a plus, my cold start is not fixed!!!! So much for 33.2!!!!!!

So, just so I can be sure, the cold start problem is still an issue??

Does everyone have this problem??

Haven't taken delivery, and I wanna know just how much time I'm gonna spend at the dealership waitin for them to get this right.

I've found that when the engine is not warm, keeping the key on position 2 (or whatever the last position is before "start&quot for a few seconds before cranking helps dramatically. I also noticed that I have to hold the key on "start" much longer than any other car I've ever owned (and that's alot!) Premature starter damage? Grrrr, I hope not.

Well after letting it sit for 24 hours, I left the key in the position you decribed, Ryan, and also made sure not to touch the gas, until after the engine caught (hint I saw on Roadfly). Started first time, relatively quickly!!!! Maybe I was a little quick on judging 33.2, or maybe its the STP fuel injector cleaner I put in my gas...

Idle is still pathetic though, right after start up, barely no response whatsoever.

Knock on wood. !!!!!

I have an 02 mcs and never had this problem, it starts right up even after being parked a few days.

Note: I do have a friend with this problem, I think that it has to do something with the early edition 02 mcs and the coputer software, he received his mcs before I did.

Does anyone know if there is a solution for this problem ?
