Only 1000 miles and the parking brake is behaving strange. I usually only need to pull up 2 clicks and it holds perfectly. Yesterday I pulled up heard one click and now the second click isn't there and I have to pull up to the 3 click. Now there is no grab from the first click to the third just empty space until the 3rd click location. Number 2 is gone. Anyone experience this, is this something I can fix? Thanx.

 

Get it adjusted by the dealership, it should be under warranty.

 

No doubt it is under warranty but the dealership isn't right around the corner for me.

 

How can you tell click #2 is gone when it isn't there? Mine usually clicks twice, but occasionally only once to engage it. Also, rarely after I release it and drive somewhere and apply the brake again it seems to be raised to the first click position (but I didn't touch it and the brake light isn't on). It just clicks once. I assume that something changed in the cable tension and didn't really click/apply the brake partway, just moved the handle up a notch.

 

Lets say click one is a one inch pull up and click 2 is two inches up from bottom, etc. Well, now it clicks at one inch and three inches up from bottom. The 2 inch click isn't there anymore. And there is a pretty good space now between click on and click 3. It just seems very strange pulling up the parking brake now because after the first click there is a pretty good distance now to the next click that wasn't there before.
