Rear brakes - What did I do wrong?
Hey guys and gals!
I decided to change my rear brakes on my Clubman yesterday, and I guess Mini brakes are smarter than me. I noticed this morning the wear sensor popped out, and my parking brake is still not so strong, even with new pads. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It might be a good idea to get a Bentley Service Manual if you plan to do more DIY work to your Clubman. It is really helpful for jobs like these. According to the manual it states that once the sensor is detached from the brake pad that the sensor spring clips aren't able to stick to the brake pad, but you might be able to get it back into the pad. The manual goes over all this on page 340-10. As for the ebrake, it may just need to be readjusted. If you need a new sensor, part # 34356789330.

remember turning the piston back into the caliper to get room for the new pads? This was because of the e-brake system.
If you cranked 'em WAY back ... even with the new pads, the system needs to adjust to the new gap. SO .... just apply the e-brake and release a few times .... the piston is adjusting back .... I never had to do this more that 3 times, but by 3 the e-brake was back to a 3 click engagement.
Wear Sensor .... did you try to reuse it? I never had good luck with this cuz of how COOKED they were (I work on MINIs for other folks)
Frankly, I always thought they were dumb and I jumpered them out on my 7 .... my 2 didn't have 'em yet. It is pretty damn easy to look at the pads and determine if they are thinner than the backing plate . . .

Naww....dumber than a brake pad does not sound right...lacks the ring...
The Bentley has lots of info...but not much use to you right now...
Are the new pads seated/bedded yet? Till they are bedded, they won't grip very well even if adjusted...I might suggest getting them good and warm...
As for the sensors...I didn't reuse them on the gen1...it only monitors ONE OUT OF 4 PADS anyway....so I just bypassed them...
