I think I amy have damaged my clutch. I'm no mechanic and I wanted to know what you guys thought before I take it to a mechanic or a dealership.
This is a 2005 MCS with a few mods I am told - 15% reduction pulley, exhaust, and chip. It has been running fine for 40,000 miles with those mods.
I can't verify those parts are in, I am a new owner just taking previous owners word for it.
Here is the Video

The sound that is concerning me is when the car is started as the engine turns over. It's the squeeling sound 11 seconds into the video.
After some driving, when sitting at a light or pulling into a parking spot, the drivers side smells like burning plastic. The passenger doesnt smell this even with the window open. It does not matter whether or not the Air conditioner is on.

The stealership wanted $1,800 to replace the entire clutch and an additional $900 to replace the flywheel.
I called a transmission shop, they towed it for free and with all the labor and parts it came to $1,600.

To be honest I'm not sure, he said something about higher PSI.
I inquired about a lightweight flywheel as well, but his opinion was to use an OEM. The OEM flywheels are much more expensive, but he said it was best to use it and performance gains from a lightweight flywheel would be immeasurable once the car is in gear.
To save money, I got one resurfaced from a wrecked mini.

Just got the car back. The noise is still there, The mech says its probably from fragments of the clutch sticking in the starter, they should work themselves out in time.
The clutch isnn't higher PSI, but it's Kevlar, which is a better material than the asbestos or whatever is used in the OEM clutch
