Here's my electrical woes.....

I just had the gas tank sensor replaced, because when I filled the car up...the gas guage went to empty... and stayed there. After driving for 30 or so miles it began to function again. Both the gas tank sensor and a gas filter in the tank were replaced under warantee.
Was in the shop for 2 days. Hassel Mini rented me a car.

I drove the car for ONE FULL DAY...

My MCS developed a new problem.
Out of nowhere..BOTH the DSC and the tire inflation light go on.
I know the tires are fine as I check em...regularly.
I go through numerous girations of resetting BOTH the DSC (flipping the switch on/off) and the tire sensor (re-setting the button under the hand brake )
AGAIN.......after about 30 miles or so...the DSC ...simply goes off... and begins to function...normally.
Then.....after resetting it numerous times..... the tire inflation light...simply resets itself ...as well.

Monday morn'n it's back to the dealer.... I'm extremely UPSET!!!!!!

The only major problems I had w/ my MCS were.... the cold start issue & the coolant tank (I'm on my 4th).

Honestly..... I've had NO REAL PROBLEMS......until this gas guage sensor.
I extremely concerned about this new electrical issue.....
This could be a serious flaw in design and construction.
I'm hoping it's not a major ....recurring ..problem.

Monday should be interesting.
BTW.... I have 22K on my car...and nothing of any consequence happend until NOW!!!!!!

I'll keep ya posted.

If anyone has anything to add...

I'm listening

Peace,
D

I had the DSC and tire sensor thing back a few months ago. They both stayed on when I started the car and stayed on for about 5 or 6 miles or so and then went away. Happened about three or four times over a 6 week period and hasn't happened since.

My MCS’s DSC light and tire monitor light went on yesterday. I restarted the engine and they went out. Got home, parked the car not giving it a second thought. A few hours later I walk by the car and notice that the interior lights are on. Try as I may, I was unable to get the lights to go out (short of disconnecting power from the battery) and the doors would not lock, either with the key, interior toggle or manually. Plus the locking mechanism for the gas filler was in a continual state of activation, making clicking noises and twitching the locking rod. I had to call roadside and have the car towed to the dealer. I know no more now then I did last night and the MCS will spend the weekend at the dealer and I have no idea when I will see it again. The car is just a little over 4 months old with 6,000 miles.

Good luck to you.

Jerry

Dennis,

you may have a problem there, --- or you may not.

It is likely (or at least possible) that when they changed the gas sensor, they had to disconnect the battery.
This may require the DSC and flat tyre system to be reset, and it does nto to re-calibrate itself.
Many have reported that when first getting the car, the DSC and flat tite lights come on, and eventually less frequently, and then not at all (unless there is a genuine probl;em), so it could just be that.

Just athought.
