Tire Issues
Tire Issues
So I've been off in college and am returning home after the year has ended. That's right, a whole 8 and a half months without my MINI. Anyway, while I've been gone, my parents have been driving him and it seems the forward tires have gotten noticeable balder since I last saw them (the outter edges). My parents decided to just switch the forward and rear tires as a temporary fix. And you guessed it, now the switched ones are getting bald as well. Why they didn't get it fixed is beyond me. I'm guessing my alignment might've gotten off and worse since my accident last July. I'm gonna have to take it in somewhere to get it serviced. Dunno if I should go to a MINI dealer or some other auto-shop.
Another problem, a nail got stuck in our rear left tire. My mom went to go get it patched up at a Shell station down the street. Apparently, and I just found this out now, that the nail didn't even fully puncture the tire. But the guy who pulled it out ended up fully puncturing the hole before patching it back up again and refilling it with more air. I'm not too happy about any of that but that tire looks more inflated than the other tires. Now the tire warning light keeps coming on when we start the car and drive.
Anyway, I dunno what to do with any of this anymore. More sh*t keeps popping up all the time and I'm pretty pissed that it is now that it's summer and I get my car back with these things that my parents didn't take the time out earlier to fix
Any feedback/suggestions would help

Well, keep this in mind. I have not owned a MINI and am simply parrotting what I've been reading around here, so discount what I say appropriately.
The runflats, while expensive to replace and less comfortable to drive, are also not destined to last that long mileage-wise. I hear 15-20k miles is about all one could ever hope for. The good news is that if you are prepared for a flat (without a spare) via a repair kit, you can buy non-run flats for a much lower price and more comfortable ride, and more tread life. Sounded to me like you were nearing this point anyway.
Ask a few others out there for their thoughts.

I am puzzled about why you are so upset?
You had a wreck
Your tires are wearing on the outside (maybe the wreck and a non-alignment or a bad alignment might be the cause)?
Maybe all the proper front suspension pieces damaged in the wreck were not replaced?
You got some nails
Your RFs are wearing out
Your flat tire light has come on because one tire has a lot more air than the others.
This is all predictable and normal considered what you posted.
Forgive me for being so blunt, but I still don't see any issues that you should be upset about. Please enlighten me.

Just go for it, new tires, alignment, make your parents pay for some concidering they used it and HEY, they are your parents, good for some milking! You will be good and happy, easy fix, not too expensive.
