JCW intake install, ECU connection help?
JCW intake install, ECU connection help?

following the instruction, I have connected white/pink = yellow by twisting it.
and now I have to somehow connect the twisted wire to the other white/pink from the connector.
problem is that, the line from white/pink is too short... is there anywhere I can do this? i'm sooo not good with electrical stuff....
I wonder if radioshack carries something to mend this..
The kit came with a heat shrinkable butt connector. The red/white wire goes to the DME. Cut that wire, twist the yellow to the red/white wire. Now you have a yellow and red/white wire twisted together and the other end of the red/white wire that you cut earlier. Use the butt connector to crimp them together.

Correct. You use the crimp connector that came with the kit. Careful - you only get one try. You need to use a CRIMPER - not pliers - to do this right... cheapo crimper from radio shack, walmart, or wherever will work.
You may also need to carefull but firmly pull on the "car" end of the red/white wire to "stretch" a bit more of it out of the harness to have enough length for a good connection - I had to do that...

hmm...I "twisted" the wires together as per the instructions, and have no problems. However, I did things a little differently. I did not actually cut the White/Red wire I simply removed the insulation from it over about 1/2" or so. Then I took the yellow wire and sort of split a couple of the wires apart, spread the now exposed wires of the white/red wire, put the yellows wires through and twisted everything together that way, then wrapped it up very tightly with electrical tape and heated it a bit to shrink it. I have used connectors many times in the past, but I did not want to cut the wire going to the DME. The method I used was very strong, I tugged on it a few times with no movement what so ever before taping it. If it ever did have a problem I would simply soder it. I think this method is a good alternative to those who don't want to actually cut the wire, and want something EASILY reversible.
Now if you cut the wire and just twist all three ends together...no that wouldn't be good and would eventually probably come apart unless sodered.

That's how I install the Lojacks..., just pull the insulation back. But since the JCW kit says cut, I cut. If there is a problem with it later, the manufacturer who makes the install instructions can't fault me.
