<<<RANT ON>>> I just called Universal MINI to get an appointment to bring my '02 MCS in for warranty related work. I was told the first appointment available was for September 3rd!!! That's 3 weeks away! I sure hope I do not breakdown between now and then! This situation with the service departments just sucks. Universal knows how many cars they are selling. They know these cars will need service and they are not training enough of their staff to meet the demand. Managment there just sucks! MINIUSA should be spending their time in this area, investing in their network of dealers rather than chasing down a community like ours! BTW, yes, I have posted dealer reviews...

Rant on brother...three weeks is a long time!!!!! (I have to admit that I have the opposite problem with Moritz MINI in Arlington, TX. I'm the holdup! I call...they're eager to take me the next day...but I need a week to arrange my schedule!!!)

This is something that has bothered me about new car service in general! Since when do cars break down or need service on the service departments time table. Last time I checked we were the customer and not the dealers service department. Seems like most Service departments I have dealt with have forgotten the 2 basic principals of customer service:
Rule #1: The customer is always right
Rule #2: See Rule #1.

The exception for me has been my Mini dealer; Mini of Charleston in Charleston, SC.

The whole staff is appreciative of the fact I bought the car 2 hours away and trys to do their best to work me in when I can get to Charleston.

Kudos to Brad Davis and all the Staff of the Sales and Service Departments.

Time to get a special relationship with someone at the dealership.

Bluegarvis ---

Is that where you bought your MINI? I see you are in Palmdale. There are a few more dealerships in the LA area you could try.

Bought mine at Alexander and they have been great.

Good luck, Woody
