So I *think* my Power Steering pump is failing. It seems to go out after I've been driving on the freeway for a bit. If I stop and restart my car, the power steering will come back to life. (I've shut my car down when I'm in traffic and restarted, and the PS will come back to life)

Does that sound like the pump to you guys. I've read the posts here, checked the fluids and fuses, and everything seems ok with those. My car has been in the SCA/NV for all it's life and I have had my Power Steering Fan replaced twice in the last two years, kept making weird noises. The fan sounds fine, I'm going to crawl under the car tonite to take a look at it.

I've got a 2005 Mini cooper with about 79Kmiles on it.

If it is the pump, does anybody know a good place to get a re manufactured pump? I've been trawling car-parts.com for a used one, no luck yet. I'm going to have to attempt the repair myself.. low on funds..

They have a 3 day max turn around on the rebuild.

Ya can't beat that. Although they let the phone ring forever before they pick up.

thats crazy. I have customers inb that industrial park and am there once a week. nice....

 

My pump went to, could i call them and then just ship them the pump or do i have to go their office. i live in va and its a ten hour drive

 

They will send a pump out, you will be reimbursed when they receive your old pump
