Indirect TPMS not resetting
Indirect TPMS not resetting
I have found a very slow leak in the L-Rear tire at the valve stem...
I usually fill up with gas and air every week, but last week I was away and the car sat, in a cold garage, all alone.... the L-rear was about 10psi low.
I got in, and sure enough the TPMS lit up shortly after I drive off to go get some air about 0.1mi away...
I check all pressures (reset them all to 38), reset the system per the owners' manual, but it doesn't...
I tried turning the car off and on again and followed the procedure.
TPMS is still glowing yellow.
I drive off to work (~50mi)... at about mi 25 it resets itself.
WTF?!
Anyone else run into this?
(The car is an '06 MCS, and I'm running 17" Enkie rims with Hakkas.
The tires will probably need to be replaced after this season due to wear.)

It sounds like George was angry with you for leaving him all cold and alone in the dark all week. That was just his welcome back.
I do know that with a indirect TMPS system you do have to drive a little bit so that the computer can relearn how fast the tires are rotating compared to each other. With my '05 it only takes about a couple blocks or about a minute to reset.
