Glove box question!!!!

I feel kind of silly asking this, but may be someone had the same issue and can save me some time....
My ladyfriend skillfully dropkicked my glove box while trying to put her feet on the dash and completely took out the glove box. The bottom hinge is still on, but the two prongs are fully out. Externally there does not seem to be any damage to the gears or hooks, but I havent checked inside yet. anyone know how to put it back in place? It seems like there is something blocking the prongs from going back in.
thanks...

My first thought was "You let someone put their feet on your dash? "
But if FPM is correct, I guess that's an exception to the rule.
Sorry, my glovebox has not been defiled, so I have no valuable input.

I don't know, I think we caught him with his pants down...

I think that's his story, and he'll stick to it .

If my WIFE, put her feet on the dash, it would be the last time she got near the Mini!

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me, and Im lloking to get theis fixed as well. The dealer told em the glove box is a sealed modular unit and they cannot open it up (kinda like the radio I guess), they can only take it out and replace the WHOLE THING at a cost of $300+ TO ME!!!!!! That is ridiculous considering no part is actually broken on the glove box, itself, the retaining prongs have just been pulled out and it hangs there, resisting my best efforts to push them back in. I know the unusual circumstances causing this damage are somewhat humorous, but does ANYBODY have a clue to fix this (short of coughing up $ to the dealer)?

ps, it really sucks to drive around at night with the glove box open and the light glaring back at you the whole time.

What year is your car? The glove box should be repariable. Pull it out and you will be able to see whats going on. I made repairs to mine, it is an 03 MCS.
