Summary: make sure brake fluid is completely topped off

I had this problem crop up a couple of times recently. Transient. For just a few seconds, I'd have ASC/DSC and BRAKE lights on the tach arc, plus a red brake ICON in the tach display. One time I had the tach icon alternate between red brake icon and yellow ASC/DSC icon. Very weird.

After reading this thread, I checked brake fluid. It was midway between low and full. Knowing that wasn't the problem, I scheduled a service appointment, which I had yesterday.

Diagnosis: brake fluid level low. Grrrr. If you have these symptoms, fill the reservoir to "F". Save yourself an appointment.
