Weak heater

My 2007 cabrio has a very weak heater. The issue seemed to be that even in the "heater only" setting, I got much more flow through the defrost vents than through the heater. On cool mornings (30 to 40 degrees F), the car does not get above 60 degrees with heater on max. I brought it to the dealer to have it checked out and they told me that is the way MINIs (and BMWs) are. Every car I have had in the past would get me from cold to roasting at half setting in about 5 minutes!
Does anyone else have this complaint?

Its unbelievable to be told from a Luxury car dealer that their cars are suppose to be that way. They are suppose to be uncomfortable and not heat well in the winter?

That is a load of crap. If you are not on the upper vents you will not feel direct heat blowing on you so possibly you think its not heating. My car heats very well. Maybe its the convertibles?
