just found out i blew a synchro in my 04 MCS. i'm aware that Mini does not supply internal tranny components, i'm hoping to get some within 2-3 weeks because a relative of mine will be in the U.S. starting tomorrow and she can bring the parts for me

where can i get the parts? NEED HELP ASAP!

I was in Manila last Sept and I didn't have time to hook up with the local MINI club. Sayang!

yup, i'm still having a REALLY hard time finding parts for my tranny. i've done numerous searches on NAM and google but none have materialized

but after reading the new posts on that old thread, i see they were no help to you. Have you gone to generic transmission places around your town? someone might know of some universal type parts that might help. or a way to source getrag bits.

 

the reason why i'm looking for other sources for the synchros is that the shop that took out my R53's tranny has a source in Germany for the getrag bits and i'm expecting the shop to put a HUGE amount on top of the cost for the getrag bits LOL

are wrecked Mini's easy to come by? know of any website that may be selling/parting out wrecked R53s?

 

Ebay has all kinds of Mini stuff. Might try there.

I would suggest that you try to find a used gearbox or parts. I do know of someone who may have some of the internal parts lying around. He had to buy a new trans from Mini when the bell housing was damaged beyond repair.

I will forward this link to him, and see if he can help.

Also, I did know that Helix had some parts from a trans available used. My computer won't let me post a link right now, but go to their site, and look for the used parts section. It looks like he might have the gear set available for $100.
